As much as I'd like to see more, I really don't think a whole trilogy is needed. :\

I think exploring more of the planet Pandora and it's people will be interesting, and no doubt has many possibilities. It's a nice change from taking the usual George Lucas approach to a planet, where the entire thing is made up of only one ecosystem and ruler.

Even though it is easy to be satisfied with the end of Avatar, I think there's no denying that there's still much more that can be done.

Well it was a bit obvious they would do one seeing the financial success and the ability to continue the story.

The story in Avatar has been told many times before.

Dance with the Wolves, Pocahontas and even Fern Gully comes to mind. So obviously the plot as many reviews have stated isn't very unique.

The main twist though is the Avatar concept, which led to many tense and immense action scenes.

Perhaps even more alarming is how real the alien race looked and blended with the Sci-Fi sets, props and human actors, let alone the beautiful and immersive scenery.

Definitely one of my new favourite movies of all time, BEST use of 3D by far!

I haven't watched it and am not planning on watching it.

I've heard bad reviews on it. People saying it's like dancing with wolves only with aliens and something about it having floating pieces of land that's never explained.
I really don't care for visuals any more unless it's artsy and the visuals I have seen don't look to artsy nor do they look interesting.

It's a marvel of modern technology. That was my greatest influence to see the movie. If you don't approach it with a pessimistic point-of-view, it's a pretty enjoyable piece of work.

Again, marvels of modern technology do not impress me (well, marvels of modern technology in movies don't to be exact),
unless I hear it has some ground breaking story line or great character development I'm not interested.

i agree with coolcat, im not planning on watching it not at least any time soon

ive heard its only been about the visual stuff, they use it a whole lot while the storyline isnt any near as good... some say they just applied amazing visual effects and animation on some random fantasy script to boost its value and make it seem fantastic and groundbreaking

the visuals might be that but if the story isnt as engaging and unique then im sorry, the story needs to be developed on some more than just the visuals for the movie to hit the right spot altogether

creativity/design and motion effects, ill give em that

there were a lot of scripts about outer space, life forms, missions and adventures before star wars but the settings and the methods back then were pretty simple

i feel that star wars managed to complete the outer space fantasy because lucas happened to have both story and visuals nailed down
